View Outside My WindowThis week's topic comes from the beautiful Betty Bolte: Our surroundings influence our mood and view of the world as much as setting in any story. What is the view outside your window, or what would you like the view to be? For those hopping over from Brenda Margriet, thank you for making the trip! My yard is full of trees, both in front and in the back. So when I look out my window, no matter the time of the year, I see birds and squirrels. Sometimes a bird will make its nest in one of our pendant light fixtures so I get to watch the parents care for their ravenous babies. Now my ideal location would have to be a treehouse with a forest view (similar to what I now have) or a beach view. I love the beach! Whether hot or cold, dry or hot, I love crashing waves and splashing dolphins and the lively little sandpipers. Whatever the view, I always seem to see more; see the possibilities. The "what ifs" and the "alternate realities" make staring out my window a real exercise in creativity. Thanks for stopping by. I'd love for you to leave me a comment about your own view before hopping on to the fabulous Jeanne McDonald.

I agree with you about the waves crashing! I would love to write next to the ocean. :) Comments are closed.
