Everything's New This Spring!

Raine Balkera wants to know what everyone is working on at the moment. Details & conundrums and snippets from manuscripts. Welcome everyone who's hopping over from Ronnie Allen! If you missed her, make sure you go back and visit her.

What am I working on right now?
I am working on pre-edits for my re-contracted novella Sorcerer's Legacy in the Wiccan Haus shared world series. When the former publishing house (Musa Publishing) closed, Decadent Publishing acquired the series, authors included (if they chose). Two contracts returned and the pre-edits in progress, I am eagerly anticipating seeing my wizard story published.

Suave, usually über controlled Ian Branson knows this trip to Wiccan Haus is more intervention than vacation. His wild emotional swings stretch his already tightly strung nerves to the breaking point, causing him to shut down his empathic abilities. Becca Jones has lost the grandmother who raised her, leaving her to renew her search for the father she's never known. Wiccan Haus is renowned for healing and relaxation; she hopes its magickal reputation results in clues to her paternal heritage.
My military contemporary novella, Heart of Stone, examines Casanova soldier Matt Stone as he breaks two cardinal rules: 1) No serious relationships and 2) the unwritten bro code of falling for his best friend's sister. The problem? Abby thinks their night together is another one-night stand for Matt. Now he has to convince her that he's the man for her.

And literally a work in progress as it's been in progress since last summer, my ghost story without a true title yet. The first in a trilogy based in centuries-old curses, founding families, and small town dynamics. I am about 20,000 words in so this will be my longest manuscript yet. Raine asked for conundrum? Mixing just enough of my hometown with the surrounding counties to disguise the true location. I do like to revisit and you know how some folks are about taking things too literally and personally.
I hope you'll follow my journey as a writer and check my blog. Follow me on Twitter (@CarolynSpearRom) and Facebook (CarolynSpear-Author).

Now it's time to visit the talented Kim Handysides, a fabulous writer and wonderful person.

Wonderful news! Thanks for sharing, too, because all three novels sounds exciting (esp. #2) and I can't wait til they're in print :D Good luck and keep up the good work!

Ooh, your Heart of Stone & my Stolen Heart share a similar premise: hero's ex-military who's fallen for his best friend's sister. Let's exchange when we're done!
